ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Future Directions is an environmental and sustainability consultancy based in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Forest Ffawr European and UNESCO Geopark. We recognise that we have an impact on the environment, principally through travel, energy and resource use and the waste that we produce. Working with clients in the public, private and voluntary sector, the consultancy recognises its responsibilities through the potential impacts of the advice and guidance it gives to its clients on sustainable development, tourism and environmental management issues. As such, from its inception in 2009, Future Directions consultancy recognised the need for environmental accreditation to demonstrate its commitment to environmental management in the way that it conducts its business to ensure that eliminate sources of pollution, comply with all relevant legislation and improve our environmental performance.
We are committed to:-
- Reducing our reliance on the use of non renewable energy sources and taking active steps to move towards the use of renewable energy sources. In the environment in which we are based, we will ensure that every step is taken to eliminate the likely sources of pollution. In doing so we will comply fully with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations.
- In the work that we undertake, we will as much as is practicable use digitally and encourage our clients to adopt a similar approach, this especially in the work that we undertake with them.
- We will minimise waste and recycle to reduce our contributions to land fill.
- When products are being purchased be it equipment or products for the business where practicable we will ensure that these are purchased from companies with environmental policies.
- In the organisations that we provide support and services to, a key element of approach will be to encourage them to commit to an environmental management scheme.
- We will work to ensure that our travel plans will use sustainable forms of transport providing that there is a viable alternative.
This policy will be reviewed at least annually and in all reviews will include what further steps can be taken to reduce energy use, waste and improve on recycling and the use of sustainable transport.
